To get here you must drive on an atv/snowmobile trail that follows underneath some power lines so I’d recommend a car that isn’t low to the ground. It features a lot of flat hiking from the Lincoln woods trail, but ends with a quick and steep ascent on the rockslides on Owl’s Head that face the east side of Franconia Ridge. The slide was not too bad for me but the loose rocks could have been an issue. Snowshoes will suffice on the generally well-packed trail. The view was much better than anticipated. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from May until October. That came on Mt Martha and Owls Head, 2 sub peaks of Cherry Mountain in Carroll, NH. Overall, this trail is easy, with a gradual incline, until you get to the cave. For over 50 years, skiing has been king of the mountain, with 50 slopes and acres of glade runs.
